Labs and Servers

Computer Science Alcove Labs

The Computer Science alcove has two lab areas administrated by student administrators (current CS majors) with high-end computers running Windows XP, Windows 2003 server edition, and Linux. Lab 1 in the alcove provides user accounts to computer science majors, mathematics majors, and other students taking related mathematics and computer sceince courses to access the computers in a Windows network environment with a server running Windows 2003 server edition. Lab 2 in the alcove is a space for conducting networking and system administration experiments in the context of computer science courses and ongoing student projects.

The OS X Server

The Computer Science Department now has one dedicated OS X server, accessible both on campus and off campus, to support MySQL database accounts and web programming with PHP and Ruby.
